Alsea Loggers John Boy Clark commissioned this mural on the Alsea Mercantile to pay tribute to local loggers and the world renowned amazing people who came here and attempted the daunting task of providing timber to the growing USA . The mural was painted from a photograph taken in the 1950’s. The banner on the painting reads, “ Honey Grove Road Circa 1950. Dint Peron, Lorin Woods (Foxhole) and Charles Boatwright (Boaty 6’ 7’’)”. |
